Requiem for the Dead

In Brittany, France, in an area with many marshes, there is a castle where the lord of those lands lived. An aristocrat whose surname. well, for now, it's not relevant. Two or three leagues further on rose a rich abbey occupied by virtuous monks. The monastery in question was built at the expense of the aristocrat, who was a very devout man and held the monks in high esteem. He decided to bequeath his possessions to the monks, disinheriting his only son as punishment for his wickedness, because I must tell you, this son was cruel and wicked.
