Résumé

REPENT: A GOOD, KIND WORD The enemy of our souls has made a caricature of the word repent so that those who preach it are ridiculed by saints and sinners alike. His caricature says that repent is a harsh, unkind, ultimatum. Christians and Christian preachers have believed this caricature and refused to use the word. But the Bible says that it is the kindness of God that leads us to repentance (Rom.
2:4) and that "God is not willing for any to perish but that all should come to repentance" (Rom. 5:12b). In this brief booklet, Jim Wilson shows how the command to repent is a crucial and gracious component of the gospel message and that while all sins require repentance, some also require restitution. With clear definitions, examples, and scriptural support, he sheds light on a subject that is often missed or misapplied in Christian teaching.
