Résumé

Real estate broker, Claire Rocklin buys distressed properties, rehabs, and sells them to support her pet project, 'Senior Housing Apartments'. She believes nobody has time for the elderly - and no one ever had time for her. She and her twin brother were emotionally abandoned by their father after the death of their mother. He remarried several times when they were children, but since he's a serial cheater, those marriages didn't last more than two years each, including the one to Maria Baldusi, Tony's mother.
Three years ago, Claire's once-upon-a time, step-brother, Master Sergeant Tony Baldusi retired from the Army became a fulltime business partner in Claire's brokerages. The son of a single mother who divorced Claire's father, a serial cheater, Tony learned how to survive long before he enlisted in the U. S. Army. He's been packing a proverbial torch for Claire, along with a diamond engagement ring for three years.
When her paternal grandparents invite them home for Thanksgiving, Tony suggests they pretend to be engaged since they're already partners and their relatives will believe they've been together in more than one way since he returned home. Can he convince 'commitment phobe, ' Claire that she deserves happiness? And will deception become reality? Or will she run away from love again, breaking both their hearts and ruining their lives in the process?
