Provisional Detective Ashlee Gardner has a problem, and it isn't the dead body in the bedroom. Her so-called trainer, Ren Bridge, won't even acknowledge she's human, much less that she can function as a cop. The corpse on the bed, Mendon Saunders, recently retired Master Gardener, went to a block party in his honor before dying, and the residents of the HOA community are either suspects or witnesses.
Amid infidelity, illicit substances, and the couple they caught coming down the hall naked, can Ashlee and Ren find out who killed Mendon before Ren's usual partner returns to duty and Ashlee is banished back to fingerprinting?
