Everly Marta and her family lived in Oakwood, Canada for a reason, it was secluded and they could control who knew their secret. Their pack the Blood Moon Pack was established more than a century ago, right from the beginning they made sure they were self-sustaining so they didn't need to ask for help from anyone. It also allowed them to fly under the radar, none of them wanted to be involved with all of the politics that were usually needed to be in the shifter world.
Laclann Thornegood had been tasked by the Chosen and the Senate to obtain something the Rogue's had, after weeks he was no closer to getting into Diavolo's lair than he was the first day he was given the mission. He knew he had to tell Orfeo and Quinn what was going on, but he got more than he bargained for when he returned to seek the powerful men. Liam Grey had once been a warrior for the Chosen, but after the last battle he was involved in, Orfeo had saved his life by turning him into a Vampire.
