Résumé

If empowerment of learning through real-life examples is at the hearts and minds of the stakeholders, then the Project-Based Learning (PBL) is one of the powerful teaching methods that can be readily deployed. The PBL teaching methodology can be highly effective in enhancing engagement, communication, strengthening of teamwork, and collaboration among the learners. These attributes are specifically emphasised and articulated in the National Education Policy 2020 of the Government of India.  The PBL approach is also found to be very useful for instilling 21st century skills.  Teachers become facilitators, coaches, consultants, and mentors for effectively implementing the PBL teaching methodology.

These attributes are specifically emphasised and articulated in the National Education Policy 2020 of the Government of India.  The PBL approach is also found to be very useful for instilling 21st century skills.  Teachers become facilitators, coaches, consultants, and mentors for effectively implementing the PBL teaching methodology. This e-book on "The Project-Based Learning - Engaging in Real-World challenges" is an expression of feelings of the rigorous learning journeys of the participants during the I-T/FDP.  It became a real-world challenge for the facilitator, participants, and the editorial board to piece together about seven micro-projects in the form of learning journeys.  As such, each participant has shared with us a pragmatic experience which can be useful for those who wish to consider the PBL as one of the teaching methods.
It is heartening to note common as well as differing viewpoints of the participants.
