This book presents the basic provisions and principles of production of iron ore pellets from magnetite concentrates. The main stages of the technological process are considered, starting from the preparation of raw materials and ending with the production of commercial pellets. The basics of rating raw materials are reflected. The factors of pelletizing processing that affect the production of high-quality pellets are analyzed, including the requirements for the mineralogy of the ore component, physical, chemical and metallurgical properties and methods for their determination.
The features of the operation of the roasting machine and the use of alternative types of biofuel are described. The tools for managing the technological process are given. Modern aspects of building a quality management system for the produced pellets are shown with the introduction of the concepts of a quality guide and a knowledge base.
