Résumé

Presley The Pelican is a brown pelican that was hatched on Queen Bess Island in Louisiana. From there he learns to fish and fly, growing up to be an adventurous pelican who likes to travel and see the sights along the Gulf Coast. Join him as he travels from Louisiana to Mississippi and then Alabama, learning and growing up as he goes. Presley will encounter hurricanes, pollution, scientists at work, and might even meet a lady pelican to love along the way! The brown pelican is a species of bird that calls the Gulf Coast home and you can get well-acquainted with these beautiful birds through the story told by this book and the pictures it contains.
Gina Sanders is a life-long marine, outdoor, and equine enthusiast. A firm believer that heaven is closer in a house on the water, Gina prefers to spend as much time as possible celebrating the joys of the Gulf of Mexico and what it has to offer. She was an active participant in the oil spill clean-up, volunteering whenever possible and patroling beaches for signs of oil. Gina is also the owner of two horses and it is not unusual to find her at the barn with hay in her hair.
She began taking English riding lessons at the age of 8 and has immersed herself in horses and riding ever since, having spent many years riding hunter/jumpers with various trainers around the country. Currently she calls the Mississippi Gulf Coast home, and splits her time between the beach, the barn, and hiking with her canine family members.
