This is the guide I wished I had when studying for the New York State License in Psychoanalysis (LP) Case Narrative Exam . I wrote it based on my own experience, and in it, I discuss the entire gamut of the exam process, from selecting a case to actually taking the exam. I go through all the exam questions and offer ways to understand and answer them. I also offer pointers on choosing your cases for the narratives.
Then, I share my experience of actually taking the exam at the testing site and use it to suggest some exam strategies. I also devote a large section on my process of actually writing and studying for this essay exam, which in itself is challenging and complex. And finally, I offer some thoughts and support for dealing with some of the anxiety of studying for, and taking the exam. I truly hope that you will find it useful.
