Four days before Christmas, on the dark, snowy roads of western New York, Dante Carloman's life takes a turn no one could have anticipated. The world around him erupts into a hellish landscape of combat when strange creatures clash with the US Army. Dante can only watch in horror as the alien force marches forward, laying waste to the soldiers around him. Kidnapped and taken to a harsh, alien world, the survivors struggle to stay alive.
Dante uncovers a kink in their captors' aura of invincibility and escapes. Outside the death camp's confines, he discovers that the planet is not as devoid of life as it first appeared. Time is running out for the damned humans. Dante must find a way to convince an artificial intelligence of questionable origin, and clones designed to destroy the human race, to rescue those he's grown to love.
