Things don't line up for a father and daughter with the wrong priorities. Shane can't see how God could work in his situation. He hates his job where he's overworked, and his rock band is far from Christian. When a friend guides him to an interesting preacher, he has to attend one of his conferences-whether his job allows it or not. Candace magnifies rock bands and black clothes, hardly speaking to God even though she's known Him her whole life.
Anxiety runs rampant and faith in God's protection over her is at an all-time low. But on New Year's Eve, she decides to read through the Bible in a year. If He had something to say, she was ready to hear it. Shane attends the conference, and Candace reads through, but their struggles aren't over. Through losing friends, instructions from angels, anxiety attacks, and God's unmistakable protection and presence, they recount life with God, seeing Him everywhere.
Through their journeys, God shows them that He is, and always will be, with them as an ever-present help before the spiritual attacks cause them to lose all hope.
