Organizational Psychology explores the complexities of men and women in the work place. It has undergone significant change with the change in civilization as modern organization have to navigate the challenges that drive organizations to better performance that has now become a crucial prerequisite for the success of an organization. The significant issue here is that organizations have to encounter a significant change in thinking attitude and even application of psychological concepts in the workplace.
It is journey that reflects the changes in societies, attitudes of people and the need to offer insights and strategies to the practicing managers. Evidence of using psychological concepts to practical management of organization dates back to pre-historic times, in different cultures and practices in the ancient world. However, the use of psychological theories to modern organization is only over a hundred years of existence.
Organizations are very deeply linked to civilization and how organizations were created, nurtured and developed from the people point of view. It is based on philosophical foundations and every principle have led to the development of organizational psychology as we see it today.
