Résumé

I entered the enemy city pretending to be a captive. I did not expect the only male I wanted to be the forbidden brother of the orc responsible for guarding me. Gweneth volunteered for a mission that could stop a war. She and four other human women allowed themselves to be captured inside the Urr'ki city, hoping to discover whether peace is possible before the Zmaj decide extermination is the only answer.
Her assignment places her in Khiara's home. Khiara is gruff, honorable, and clearly developing feelings for her. Gweneth cares about him deeply, but her body and heart answer to someone else. Dilacs. Khiara's quiet younger brother watches the world through heavy-lidded eyes and speaks only when he has something worth saying. Beneath his brooding calm is a warrior who helps injured children, protects Gweneth without treating her as helpless, and has nearly abandoned hope that his dying people can be saved.
Every look between them is dangerous. Every stolen touch risks Khiara's heart, Gweneth's cover, and all three of their lives. Then an earthquake tears through the underground city, an assassin strikes at the Shaman, and riots give the Maulavi the excuse they need to tighten their control. Gweneth, Dilacs, and Khiara are drawn toward whispers of a resistance, but the movement has already been infiltrated.
When the Shaman's guards come for Gweneth, Dilacs claims her before them all. His dragoste. His soul-bonded mate. His to protect. Outnumbered and beaten, Dilacs cannot stop them from taking her. Gweneth wakes in the Shaman's prison and discovers that the missing Urr'ki Queen is alive in the neighboring cell. Freeing Queen Rani could shatter the Shaman's power, prevent a war, and give both species their first real chance at peace.
It could also get everyone Gweneth loves killed. To save her, Dilacs must join his brother and the resistance in an assault on the most heavily guarded place in the city. To save the Urr'ki, Gweneth must trust the orc who once saw no future to carry their Queen through enemy tunnels and into the hands of the Zmaj. Their desire began as a forbidden secret. Now their love may become the bridge between two peoples who have spent generations trying to destroy each other.
Orc's Desire is a steamy alien orc romance featuring a fake captive heroine, forbidden attraction to her guardian's brother, a quiet brooding protector, secret stolen moments, forced proximity, brotherly conflict, touch-her-and-die devotion, fated mates, political rebellion, a daring prison rescue, found family, and a committed happily-for-now while the Red Planet Dragons of Tajss saga continues.
USA Today bestselling author of fantasy and scifi romance, Miranda Martin's books feature larger than life heroes with out-of-this-world anatomy and smart heroines destined to save the world. As a little girl she would sneak off with her nose in a book, dreaming of magical realms. Today she brings those fantasies to life and adores every fan who chooses to live in them for a while. She was born and raised in southern Virginia, but as a veteran she's traveled to places like Korea, Hawaii and good 'ole Texas.
Now she's settled in Kansas, the heart of America, with her husband and daughters. Her favorite animals are dragons, unicorns and cats. If she's not writing, you can still find her tucked away somewhere with a warm blanket and her nose in a book.
