Résumé
In the year 1805 of chaotic Mughal India, Nakul is on a two-month-long journey with his kinfolk to Banaras. Though a loving husband, father and son, he loves music above all and often plays dhol for hours on end. His father often rebukes him for his irresponsible behavior. During that journey, the family meets Khelu traveling to Vindhyachal, a town thirty miles before Banaras., He is on his way with his fellow villagers to offer worship to Goddess Durga.
Both groups decide to travel further together. Nakul and Khelu would spend evenings together sketching and playing music with everyone. Every night halt is filled with laughter, food, and music, but one such night changes everything forcing Nakul to face his inner demons. Would he risk everything and succeed, or would he perish in his effort, to get back what is most precious to him?
