Inspired by Real-Life Historical Events:In 1944, forty-four world nations agreed on a new system of international economic order called Bretton Woods, which backed the US dollar with physical gold. The "Gold Standard" stabilized prices and prevented inflation. But after a sudden decision by President Nixon to back the dollar by nothing, bankers and politicians were free to live out their wildest inflationary fantasies, regardless of the consequences.
