Résumé

Dear Reader, As Master Archivist, it fell to me to document this pivotal point in Calian history. The Bubble was quickly becoming uninhabitable. Moving out was necessary, but citizens opposed change. It was regrettable that those who designed our protected environs had not planned an exit strategy. They believed we had time. So, we adapted. Even as the infrastructure began to fail, we tested life outside by banishing our most deviant citizens to the ruins of Old City.
Some survived-many did not. But with their successes, we prepared for yet another perilous experiment. This is the story of those early days. The story of the seemingly disparate people who rebuilt our shattered world. Their accomplishments are seldom recognized, but it was with those like the young healer Cesa, the crazy old exile Baaka, and even the traitor Riz where the strength to forge a new way was created.
IT TAKES MORE THAN ONE KIND OF LEADER TO BUILD COMMUNITY
