While one side of Saer shrieks for him to run, another soft, inner voice begs him to wait. With teeth like razors and a cunning wit, Lady Eyes of the Cat aims to establish a territory with radical ideals, and so acquires-and needs-Saer to deter would-be assassins during her unwaking hours. What she doesn't need is the distraction of his damnable smile.  Unbeknownst to Cat, the hold on her territory threatens to fracture as long as Saer's final bond to his maker persists.
Apart, they'll never overcome the horrors of the Devil pulling all the strings. Together, they'll grapple with painful yearning that could only lead to traumatic heartbreak. One thing is clear-they cannot have, nor bear, it all.
