No Man's Sons

In Roger T. Pepper's No Man's Sons, American journalist Catherine "Corky" Mason travels to northern Siberia expecting to investigate rumors surrounding mammoth excavations near the Arctic town of Khatanga. Instead, geneticist Stefan Zuyev claims she may share a biological connection with four men created through secret Soviet experiments using prehistoric Cro-Magnon DNA recovered from a frozen woman discovered decades earlier in the Siberian permafrost.
After a helicopter pilot is murdered and unknown attackers steal Corky's DNA from her hotel room, she realizes the research operation hidden beyond the Laptev Sea involves far more than just fossil recovery. Joined by American paleontologist Stu Uhlig, Corky follows a trail leading through military checkpoints, remote Dolgan camps, and frozen valleys with secrets hidden beneath the Arctic ice, while armed agents close in on them.
