Narratives In Research is specially written to encourage emerging researchers. This book covers the experiences of the author as a researcher over many years. The book carefully discusses some key considerations for formulating a research topic. Furthermore, it offers some pieces of advice on how to skilfully place research within the appropriate context. Problem statement, research questions, objectives and hypotheses of a study are also explained and placed appropriately in the context of the research process.
The book uncovers important truths about literature review that is often missing from many academic write-ups and reports. The methodology of a research is accorded an important place in this book. How to approach results, discussions and conclusions of an investigation, are presented in this book. This book concludes with some important checklists for ensuring a quality research process and output.
Dr. Ernest M. Abraham is responsible for teaching, research, supervision and academic counselling of various categories of students. Currently, he lectures in courses in Environment and Management (Environmental Management; Natural Resources Management; Strategic management; entrepreneurship development; environmental management and auditing for the oil and gas industry; and Total Quality Management). He is currently the Head of the Department of Business Administration, University of Professional Studies, Accra.
He has supervised undergraduate students on various research exercises. At the graduate level, he teaches Corporate Governance and Natural Resources Management and Environmental Management and Auditing for the Oil and Gas industry in the MBA class. He has supervised students of the MBA Corporate Governance and M. Phil Leadership programmes. He served as a resource person for the Centre for Public Accountability, through which several training sessions were organised for different institutions.
Dr. Abraham has some academic publications in the Areas of livelihoods and institutions, and environment to his credit. He graduated with a PhD degree in Development Studies from the University of Greenwich, UK.
