AUTHOR: FANKA MASHIANEFanka Frans Mashiane was born in 1973, at the Groothoek Hospital also known as "Sekutupu." The child of the late, Mokwene Johannes Mashiane (Praise name, Ngwato) the late Ramatsimela Rosina Mashiane (The commendation name Ngwalengwe). My educational track history -traces back to humble beginnings from Bolopa Primary School right up to J. K Tabane Senior Secondary School. My Advanced Education was to be at the Regenesys Business School in Johannesburg and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in United States of America.
I have been blessed to have worked for Corporates with International footprints like SASOL, BHP Billiton, Sonae and PG Bison. With extensive managerial experience of over 25 years in manufacturing, production and operations across the board making, petro chemical, metallurgical, manufacturing and small project management fields as a superintendent, team leader and shift supervisor with a responsibility of overseeing production process, output, safety and management of teams.
This is in addition to preceding roles as a senior process controller and also responsible for safety in his career that started in 1993. Fanka Mashiane is also a published writer, historian and poet with two books. The Knowledge from Sacred hills and a historical book about his family clan called Mashiane. He holds Masters in Business Administration degree, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management a Certificate in International Leadership from Regenesys Business School.
He attended a System Engineering Approach to Platform based Manufacturing and Innovation (SEAMPI) course from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he was nominated by Fibre Processing and Manufacturing (FP&M) SETA together with other 26 delegates in South Africa. He is currently the chairperson of Employment Equity forum at PG Bison board plant in Ugie and a member of PG Bison group employment equity consultative forum.
He is the current chairperson of Families South Africa (FAMSA) Stutterheim.
