Résumé
Two works of marriages in turmoil open with James Grosvenor's classic of the genre, "My Not So Loving Wife". Read on, as the unsuspected discovery of his loving wife's affair with a well-endowed fellow teacher makes a husband question his manhood. Even more so when he discovers she is the dominant partner in that affair and only began it because she could not exert the same level of control over him.
To begin with, he believes the marriage is unsalvageable. But then he hits upon a unique solution to try to salvage something from the emotional debris surrounding him. Rather than just end what has been a happy union resulting in two daughters he adores, he enlists the help of a female friend and teaching-colleague of his wife to put his plan into action. The end result will be a surprise for all! Rafael Menton follows this with "Hubby's New Place", his disturbing description of how an old saying and cliche is proved correct when a husband's disability, after a serious and near-life-threatening encounter with Uro-Sepsis, places his wife in control of their domestic and business affairs.
Responsibility and the power going with it that not only corrupts her but, for a while, corrupts her absolutely. Led astray by her female fitness-instructor who herself has fashioned a female-led marriage for herself, she embarks upon a series of affairs. All the while assuring herself that the love she has for the father of their children hasn't changed. It will not end well! Believable female-led fiction and marital misadventure for those readers with a desire to have a light shone on the more.
