This book is a true story based on my memories of living in a nursing home for ten years. All names have been changed to protect the innocent and guilty people from harassment. I also want to avoid any lawsuits over revealing the truth about the abuse and neglect that I suffered through while a resident of the nursing home. I have amnesia and forgot quite a bit of information. However, I kept a private blog and private Facebook posts that bring the memories back to me. The story that you're about to read is the truth of my experience at this nursing home.
All nursing homes aren't bad and most are helpful and understanding of what the residents need. But if you're considering putting a relative or a friend in a nursing home, then this book will help you decide if the nursing home is right for the person you care about. Outer appearances of the building can sway you in the wrong manner. The staff is the most important part of this journey. My story is very sad and very shocking.
