Carlo Vasari's mother is near death and desperate. She warns him that his parent's protective mistake has put him in grave supernatural danger. She then tells him that her mate bond will kill his father after her life ends. In despair and disbelief, Carlo immediately calls his father who through his tears, stuns Carlo anew by confirming his formerly unknown supernatural heritage and the unstoppable approaching peril.
