Résumé

I'm not a therapist. I'm not a psychologist. I'm not even an eye doctor. I'm simply a blind person trying to understand the meaning of the life God has destined for me. I grew up blind, going through many different stages of life before I finally found my footing and learned to make peace with myself. Now, when I hear from parents who are trying to strengthen their hearts while raising a blind child, I often feel moved to respond-not to lecture, but to walk alongside them.
Many of these parents feel as though they're walking this journey alone, not knowing whom to ask or where to begin. This book was written to try to answer those concerns. Inside, you'll find 33 questions that parents often have while raising a blind child-starting from how to calm their hearts when they first face the reality, how to build their child's self-confidence, and how to navigate the teenage years, identity-seeking, entering the workforce, or preparing for marriage. In these pages, I share practical, psychological, and spiritual insights that are often overlooked when parents accompany their blind child in the journey of growing, learning, and making peace with themselves. I hope this book can be a companion when you feel restless, a conversation partner when you're unsure, and a source of strength when your heart feels fragile.
I know I can't answer every question. But I hope that through my experiences, a small light can shine-guiding the steps ahead so that you can walk with more calm, more certainty, and more readiness to accompany your child with love.
