Résumé

The idyll in the small harbor town of Hout Bay near the metropolis of Cape Town is abruptly disturbed. There, the first acts of violence against two young girls have occurred. Three murders present the investigative team of Mboweni Mushgabo and his assistant Gero Hopsien with an unusual task. They have to investigate in the community of local Jehovah's Witnesses. Could it be that the murderer is in the ranks of the devout brothers and sisters? For the brothers and the leadership of the Watchtower organization, an unimaginable thought.
An approach that should not be pursued further. This complicates the investigative work of the police. Only after two Jehovah's Witnesses investigate their own does a breakthrough occur in searching for the perpetrator. The portrayal leads the reader into a milieu that is largely closed to the outside world. The author combines authentic events, autobiographical elements, and fictional incidents in a loosely written style in a turbulent story that clarifies the thought structures of the Witness organization against the background of the young rainbow nation of South Africa from his own experience.
