Mission Beach

A café opens each morning on Bingil Bay Road. The Coral Sea in front, the rainforest behind, and between them a town that holds people still long enough to forget where they thought they were going. Sebastian makes the coffee. Rick arrives from New York with something in him starting to give way. Caroline takes the table in the shade. Mangoes fall on the tin roof and no one looks up.
