Résumé

Minerals Warfare Redux is a comprehensive work that looks at the U. S.' critical minerals supply chain insecurity. Chapter 1 analyzes America's critical minerals strategy from WWI to the present, highlighting its minerals security decline. Chapter 2 assesses the impact of the Biden Administration on U. S. critical minerals security while Chapter 3 looks at the Trump administration and its focus on Greenland and Ukraine.
Chapter 4 delves into the history of the Defense Production Act and how it has been used to help develop mineral supply chains as well as what its limitations are. Chapter 5 investigates the failure of the U. S.' National Defense Stockpile which is woefully under resourced at just 4% of its required amount. Chapter 6 provides a comprehensive overview of the rare earth sector and how China came to dominate the segment.
Finally, Chapter 7 provides a critical minerals index fund which illuminates how such a cross section of select companies might perform as an investment vehicle. The last half of the book is an index which provides an overview and assessment of each of the fifty identified critical minerals for the reader's reference and so they understand the intricacies of global supply chain dynamics.
