Das Christentum in Europa internationalisiert sich und wird pluraler. Allein in Deutschland leben über 10 Millionen Christenmenschen mit Migrationshintergrund. Viele von ihnen organisieren sich in Migrationskirchen, internationalen und interkulturellen Gemeinden, die das religiöse Leben nachhaltig bereichern. Dennoch sind Migrationskirchen ein Stiefkind sowohl der migrations- und religionswissenschaftlichen als auch der theologischen Forschung.
Der vorliegende Band ist aus der mehrjährigen Zusammenarbeit von Religionswissenschaftlern und Theologen erwachsen und erschließt das Phänomen umfassend. Er bietet grundlegende theologische Zugänge, das Feld erschließende Einzelstudien und lotet die Möglichkeiten aus, welche die Migration von Christenmenschen für Theologie und Kirche eröffnen. In Germany alone, there are over 10 million Christians with a migration background. Many of them organize themselves in migration churches, international and intercultural congregations that enrich religious life in a sustainable way. Nonetheless, migration churches are a stepchild in religious studies and theology. The present volume makes the phenomenon accessible systematically and comprehensively.
It emerged from several years of collaboration between religious scholars and theologians and explores the possibilities that the migration of Chritians opens up for theology and the church.
