Résumé

Cora thought her life was over. Sent away by her uncle once her parents died, forced into a sea voyage she wanted nothing to do with, and then assailed by a storm. She couldn't help but wonder how much misfortune could befall a person and why it was her. When the ship capsized, she wasn't surprised. She was surprised when she found herself alive and being carried away by a mermaid. She couldn't understand why the otherworldly being had saved her, and she supposed it didn't matter - if there were no nefarious reasons involved.
