Résumé

True crime social media sensations and citizen sleuths Mercy St. Claire and Chizzy Williams are working themselves sick trying to solve DC's numerous cold cases. Meanwhile, retired criminalist Mark Thoreau is nursing a broken heart and a bottle of bourbon, and local reporter Tohru Iwasaki is serving as the inspiration for a mystery novel. When a child is abducted from the school that Mark's daughter attends, they all come together to investigate the case, but Mark can't take his mind off of Mercy, and Tohru might have bitten off a little more than he can chew when it comes to playing the hero detective.
Just when it looks like things can't get any more complicated, the investigation leads the team to an underground, after hours theater company, and to a ragtag cast of actors who know the art of keeping secrets.
