Résumé

For the first time in a long while, the Hotel is at peace. The Game has gone quiet, the cataclysms have stopped, and Alex's team has allowed itself what it couldn't afford for years - an ordinary life. Work, home, a holiday. Right up until the day a man who has no business being there sits down at their table in the bar and asks a question: "So? Are you buying the hotel?"A nameless Player has surfaced in the Game.
He appears in no registry, operates with unprecedented cruelty, and lies beyond the reach of the arbiters. The Curators no longer control the Rules, the old methods of disqualification don't work, and weapons confer no advantage. The rumors that the new adversary has no vulnerabilities turn out to be true. Alex finds that out after he has already agreed. There's no backing out now - and the Player's target is him.
Alex Tur is my author's pen name. I've been writing for a long time - writing codes, presentations, business plans... Having spent decades building systems, companies, and teams across diverse industries, I turned to fiction not as a departure - but as a natural evolution, this time creating my own universe. I'm drawn to the anatomy of dehumanizing systems-and to the stubborn people who refuse to become monsters inside them.
This interest and current trends in global geopolitics prompted me to publish the psychological sci-fi thriller "Hotel on the Edge" as a book series. I am currently adapting the first four books into the first season of the TV series, and am writing a sequel to the story."Hotel on the Edge" is my way of engineering emotion, mystery, and meaning through narrative. Some episodes are grounded in real pressures I've experienced-power, loyalty, and the cost of being "useful"-translated into a sci-fi thriller so the emotional truth stays real while the world goes bigger.
This novel is my work as an independent author in the field of fiction. Work on the story began in the late 90's, but was put on hold for a bunch of reasons. A quarter of a century later, I came back to the idea and wrote everything from scratch. And I believe the novel has only benefited from this.
