Every night, when the world sleeps, the moon travels across the sky collecting the faintest glimmers - leftover light from broken stars. It keeps these fragments safe in the Sea of Skyglass, an invisible ocean floating above the clouds, ensuring that the world never truly goes dark. But one night, the moon forgets to rise. Twelve-year-old Luna Vale, a rebellious dreamer who sketches constellations from her rooftop, discovers a single glowing drop of "starlight" has fallen into her town.
It hums with a voice she knows - the voice of her older brother Sol, lost in a lightning storm a year ago. Desperate to bring him back, Luna follows the trail into the hidden world of Celestara, where light is alive and memories shimmer as constellations. There, she learns the truth: her brother's essence has become part of the Moon's Heart, the source of light that powers the night sky - and it's dying.
When Luna steals a piece of the Heart to save Sol, she accidentally unleashes The Eclipse, a darkness that begins swallowing both Earth and Celestara. Now, with the help of a grumpy fallen star named Vireo and a shape-shifting shadow cat called Umbra, Luna must return the stolen light before the cosmos collapses. But every step closer to saving the world means fading the only piece of her brother she has left.
