Love's Refrain. Katie Long & Siren, #5

Despite her personal life falling apart, Katie battles on to keep Siren together.  Their tour continues against a backdrop of tension within the band.  Taking advantage of a break in the touring schedule Katie finds a new avenue of interest for a while, but the issue of personal problems with Paul won't go away. During the recording of their 2008 album these matters come to a head and culminate in the threat of both Gavin and Jaz wishing to leave unless the rift between Katie and Paul is sorted.  Katie has to make a tough decision, and in confronting Paul the revelation of a decades-long personal tragedy in Katie's life is suddenly exposed.
It is the realisation that she has to stop fighting and embrace the man who has loved her since the band formed that she might finally find a cure for the years of pain she has suffered.
