Résumé

Longarm's in a town where the deaths aren't natural and the poison isn't pretty! When a county commissioner claims that folks dying of natural causes have actually been murdered, Longarm thinks the man is seeing conspiracies in his sleep. But before he can give this well-connected fat cat the brush-off, U. S. Marshal Custis Long has to do his job and check it out.   What Longarm finds is a town divided between two factions-with him in the middle.
It's a hard investigation-so he saddles up with pretty little fillies who know how to treat a weary marshal right. But when Longarm realizes that the commissioner may not be telling tales, he's in so much trouble that he's going to have to live up to his reputation-in spades.
