Life On The Limit

It's almost beyond me to attempt to encapsulate the emotions I felt when I read Life Beyond The Limit other than, if you want to do yourself a favour, buy it and it read it because it is this good - Chloe Newman, author I have never read a story as unique, brilliant and unforgettable as Life On The Limit and I doubt I ever will - Mary Parks, author Life On The Limit is simply marvellous - John Walker, author If you wrote the 1958 Formula One racing season as a movie script, few would believe it.
Life On The Limit tells a story like no other. This is a fictionalised account of that dramatic season, but it's more about people than cars.  Mike Hawthorn, naturally fast but suffering from health problems while haunted by many other demons.  Luigi Musso, a proud Roman of aristocratic background, who's naivety would cause him great trouble.  The ever-cheerful Peter Collins, who wasn't at the same level as his team mates but wasn't introspective enough to realise this.  Fiamma Breschi, Luigi's girlfriend who knows more about cars than he does.  Maria Teresa de Filippis, Luigi's ex-girlfriend and the first woman to race in Formula One - she was 12 laps shy of becoming a legend.
