Résumé

Life Lessons from a Butterfly is a life manual that reflects on the life cycle of a butterfly and relates it to human experience. By reflecting on the life of a butterfly, we can learn more about our life, as well as how we can live more meaningfully. It is interesting to note that the beautiful butterfly that you see flying so gracefully usually only has a lifespan of a few weeks up to a few months, and would rarely be able reach a full year - and yet, do you see how beautifully and gracefully it flies?  As you read these words, life is fleeting very quickly.
As a human being, you are blessed with more time than a beautiful butterfly. But, are you making good use of the time that you have? Just as life is fleeting, your clock is also ticking, and so is the clock of everyone around you. Now is the time for you to stop and smell the roses. It is time to re-examine how you live your life and make positive changes, so that you can finally experience life in its fullest.  Life Lessons from a Butterfly reflects on the life cycle of a butterfly.
There are primarily four stages in the life of a butterfly: egg, caterpillar, pupa, and adult butterfly. As you can see, before a butterfly becomes what it is, it first has to go through various stages. These stages also present their own challenges. Indeed, as human beings, we can learn a great deal by studying and reflecting on the life of a butterfly. In our world, it is very easy to get lost and be misdirected.
According to statistics, as of 2020, every 40 seconds, somebody in this world dies by suicide. In my neighborhood, there is a nearby park. Some time ago, our neighbor who was a young teenager committed suicide in the park by hanging. Sadly, this kind of story is no longer. It happens every day together with many other stories of depression and suicide. The truth is that many people are sad and lost in life.
I, for one, used to have serious suicidal tendencies for I was (and still am) too disappointed with humanity. "Stop and smell the roses." This is a well-known teaching about life, for it reminds us to be truly alive. So, now, let us stop for a while and stare at a butterfly and learn from it. Who knows, this butterfly might just reveal to us the way to happiness and life.
