Résumé

This book is an attempt to depict the man-made environmental crisis as observed by an 'outsider' - an perceptive alien being. In today's media and in other forums, most discussions on related topics focus on the climate crisis only. The devastating impacts of soil, water, food and air pollution (read poisoning), soil erosion and degeneration, deforestation, vanishing waterbodies, wastage, waste generation, water scarcity, body-pollution, ecosystem damages and destruction of biodiversity are  seldom talked about, and there seems to be a very obvious reason behind this 'selective amnesia' which is mentioned in the book along with supporting facts. In this book,  a lot of data and  relevant reports are furnished  to enable  the readers to perceive the real magnitude of the crisis.
Climate crisis has been discussed too. At the same time, this book attempts to show how we and the dominant political-economic system  have managed to bring ourselves to such a precarious situation. The 'outsider' also explains why she does not see any ray of hope for mankind if business-as-usual continues, , quoting a lot of reports and figures that are hard to refute.
