Résumé

The mountain remembers what the town tries to forget. Three years ago, journalist Vera Hale lost her brother to the Blackthorn Mountains. They found him at the mouth of an abandoned mine, his body meticulously rearranged and sewn shut with surgical precision. The case went cold, but Vera never stopped searching for the truth behind the "unknown" cause of death. Now, Vera has returned to Carver's Hollow with a documentary crew to film Blood and Bone, a follow-up to the 2003 massacre that saw six people slaughtered in a single night of inexplicable violence.
The authorities blamed a drifter named Lester, claiming he was killed in the mines shortly after. But as Vera and her team dig deeper, they realize the official story is a lie designed to bury something far more ancient. The signs are everywhere: fresh graffiti of Lester's name in dripping red paint, strange "blood marks" carved into the bark of twisted trees, and a local population paralyzed by a fear they won't name.
In the silence of the hollow, where cell signals die and GPS fails, a rhythmic humming rises from the earth-a low, wordless chant that matches the pulse of a growing underground root network. When the power fails and figures in black robes emerge from the tree line, Vera's investigation becomes a desperate fight for survival. Her researcher, Ivy, discovers a family connection to a "Gospel of Flame"-a text older than history that speaks of a covenant with the dark and a hunger that must be fed.
The mines were never truly sealed, and the monster they called Lester was never just a man. As the earth begins to split and the roots of the hollow claim the town, Vera must face the terrifying reality that she didn't come here to investigate the mountain-the mountain was waiting for her. In Carver's Hollow, some things are better left buried. Because once the black veins start to pulse, the harvest has already begun.
