The dirty-deeds-for-hire business continues to yield robust dividends for Aamon V'Iangsooth Savage, successful independent contractor and entrepreneurial boss of Solutions LLC. Aamon's coterie of corporate talent has grown beyond his plucky advocate Filippa Saucson to include an erstwhile lover and two former mortal foes, and, as far as the ex-naval commando is concerned, no contract is off the table as long as it pays well.
So when his next-door neighbor and occasional lover Saorsie Johansson (former head of the Republic of Natalund's Secret Intelligence Bureau and current fugitive from her star nation of birth) retains him to break her younger brother Brit out of a notoriously dangerous super-max prison and exfiltrate him from the Unaligned but Axis-leaning Republic of Lorrance, he accepts the job and subcontracts Indra Parthaa (formerly of the Centerlands SPA) to conduct reconnaissance ahead of his arrival.
Incarcerated abroad under false bona fides on the desolate Lorrancean Territory of Lariss, and operating largely alone but with the able and superb assistance of his new hire Indra, Aamon knows that he is under constant and competent scrutiny from the prison's army of sentient and cybernetic minders, and that getting out will be definitively more difficult than having gotten in. But, for Aamon Savage, it's just another day in the big bad universe toward the successful completion of a challenging contract and the pursuit of a substantial payday.
