Résumé
Die Kulturgeschichte kennt eine Vielzahl an unterschiedlichen Variationen des Spiels. In einer bestimmten Hinsicht erweist sich die Form des Spiels als ein konstitutives Phänomen von Kultur. Unter der Voraussetzung, dass es sich bei Religion um ein kulturelles System handelt, kann zudem erwartet werden, dass auch sie den Impuls des Spielerischen in sich aufnimmt. Vor diesem Hintergrund zielen die Beiträge dieses Bandes darauf ab, einzelne Verflechtungen zwischen Spiel und Kultur aus theologischen und philosophischen Perspektiven zu untersuchen.
Dabei geht es sowohl darum, theoriegeschichtliche Hintergründe des Zusammenhangs sichtbar zu machen, als auch darum, die Verhältnisse zwischen Spiel, Religion und Ethik systematisch zu untersuchen. Mit Beiträgen von J. Dierken, M. Firchow, E. Fischer-Lichte, Chr. Polke, B. Recki, Chr. Seibert und Ph. Stoellger. [Culture as a Game. Philosophical-theological Varieties] Within human history a multitude of various plays and games can be found.
To some extent play seems to be both, a constitutive part as well as a basic phenomenon of human culture; and since religion forms a cultural system it clearly inheres playful elements. Against this background, all contributors of this volume undertake to analyse and describe different kinds of intertwinings of play and culture. From the different perspectives of theology, philosophy and cultural studies they consider questions like whether there is a moral, even religious dimension in play and game and if so, how it does shape individual and communal life.
