Die Sammlung von Aufsätzen und Beiträgen aus mehr als drei Jahrzehnten umfasst inhaltlich die Zeitspanne von der Entstehung evangelischer Kommunitäten und deren anfänglicher Ablehnung durch die Kirchen und mancher Mitchristen bis hin zur gegenwärtigen Anerkennung und Wertschätzung. Je länger je mehr wird den Kommunitäten aber auch bewusst, dass sie diesen Schatz »in irdenen Gefäßen« tragen. Das erdet ihre Spiritualität, deren unterschiedliche Ausformung und Auffächerung in den verschiedenen Darstellungen zum Ausdruck kommt.
