Composed towards the end of his life, the two sonatas from which the E maj, sonata was extracted were dedicated to Gustav III king of Sweden. A brilliant musical offering to a respected musical patron, and though often dubbed the Swedish Mozart. the style recalls the great keyboard sonatas of C. P. E Bach. The E maj. Sonata is a work of extraordinary length and brilliance and is a fine example of the composer in his prime.
