Eden met Yuki when the two were children; from then on, the two friends were inseparable. They did everything together while growing up, and though Eden wasn't blind to the prejudice Yuki was subjected to, she did her best to make her best friend feel loved and cared for. The villagers might not care for monster girls, but she wouldn't allow that to mean she had to feel as they did. As they grew up, what had been friendship became a romance.
It all happened in secret, obviously. Neither of them wanted to be judged for who they took as a lover. Then everything changed. When goblins attacked their village and kidnapped children, Yuki didn't hesitate before putting herself forward to help track them down. Eden didn't want her to go, fearing what would happen and knowing she couldn't allow the other female to go without telling her of her pregnancy. However, she didn't get a chance to say anything before they left, and she could only hope Yuki would return.
Only she didn't.
