A composer, musician, producer, and now comic book scriptwriter, Kid Noize has become one of the most famous DJs in Belgium today. His first hit album, "Dream Culture, " spent a full year near the top of the charts in Belgium. After touring extensively and participating in multiple music festivals, Kid Noize returned with a new album in January 2019, "The Man with a Monkey Face, " created alongside musicians from the USA, England, and New Zealand.
And in parallel with his new album, his first comic book has been released by publisher Dupuis, "Kid Noize" (Europe Comics in English), a visionary project created together with writer Kid Toussaint and artist Otocto.
Kid Toussaint, born in Belgium, is an author and translator who has also worked in the audiovisual sector. His specialty, it's safe to say, is comics, with an impressive and quickly growing collection of successful series.
With Dupuis alone, his portfolio includes the collaborative project "Magic 7" (Europe Comics in English) as well as "Télémaque" ("Telemachus, " Europe Comics), a Homerian reboot created alongside Kenny Ruiz. And in 2019, this list is set to grow further with "Kid Noize, " about the Belgian DJ phenom of the same name, and "Animal Jack, " bringing to life a young boy who just happens to be a shape-shifter, both published by Dupuis (Europe Comics in English).
His most recent work includes the groundbreaking "Elle(s)" (Le Lombard; Europe Comics in English), alongside artist Aveline Stokart.
Born on the 31st of December in Charenton-le-Pont, in the Ile-de-France region, Otocto spent his childhood in the Normandy countryside, reading and drawing comics. Since he wasn't sure about what to do in the future, it was on the advice of a friend that he decided to join the Pivaut Art Academy in Nantes.
There he improved his skills, and upon completing his studies he spent a year practicing and creating custom illustrations. In 2016 he was put in touch with scriptwriter Kid Toussaint ("Telemachus") to work on the ambitious project "Kid Noize, " a comic book series about the iconic Belgian DJ of the same name. The first volume was released by Dupuis in January 2019 (Europe Comics in English).
