Die Frage nach dem Wissenschaftscharakter der Theologie ist für deren Selbstverständnis und ihren Status in der Universität maßgeblich. Sie führt zugleich zur Klärung des Verhältnisses von Glauben und Wissen, Vernunft und Offenbarung im Grundsätzlichen und im Horizont der Moderne. In diesem Sammelband, der aus einer Tagung an der STH Basel im Herbst 2019 hervorging, werden diese Grundfragen in methodischer Vielfalt zwischen Philosophie, Erkenntnistheorie und theologischem Selbstverständnis untersucht und freundschaftlich kontrovers diskutiert.
