Né dans le Kentucky aux États-Unis en novembre 1978, Robert Kirkman est un auteur spécialisé dans l’univers des comics. Élève au lycée de Cynthiana, il fait la connaissance de Tony Moore. C’est le début d’une collaboration à succès. L’un de leurs tout premiers projets « Battle Pope » est une parodie de super héros. Cette œuvre ne va pas connaître un véritable enthousiaste de la part des lecteurs contrairement à « Invincible », l’histoire d’un super héros teenager. Toutefois, l'heure de la consécration finit par arriver avec la publication de l’ouvrage « Walking Dead ». Cette série de comics books nous plonge dans une Amérique infestée par les zombies. La poignée d'humains parviendra-t-elle à survivre ?
Dans le premier tome de ce comics books « Walking Dead Tome 1 - Passé décomposé », Robert Kirkman aborde des thèmes comme la violence, l’amour, la trahison, l’infidélité. Il met en exergue des personnages attachants de Rick, Lori et Carl. C’est une histoire que les férus d’effets spéciaux, les passionnés de l’horreur et du suspense prendront beaucoup de joie à lire.
