Qantre, along with the other kingdoms on the continent, belong to a world once ruled by beings called the Ancients. When the Ancients, with the help of magic, reached the peak of their development, they moved to another, immaterial dimension. After the Ancients came the reign of ruthless beings called Sel. These bastards of the Ancients and the people of that time created an Empire of fear and terror called Mont Cata.
The cataclysm left the last living Sel buried and imprisoned in the depths of one of the Ancient structures called the Ruins. Hundreds of years later, another earthquake allowed this powerful creature with perfect magic to be released. Now, from hiding, Sel plots plot after plot, bribes magicians and organizes assassinations of kings in order to take over the world again. By accident, Sylvana comes across one of these conspiracies, which thwarts her plans to return to the capital of Qantre and settle accounts with Governor Bolivara.
Another reason is the mysterious death of one of the most important figures of the Brotherhood of Hunters and her friend. These are not the only circumstances that lead to a sudden change of plans and priorities in her life. Unexpectedly, more important events occur, forcing her to take action to prevent the growing threat from people intending to resurrect Mont Cata, an Empire of evil and terror that existed centuries ago.
