This is not just a book about football. The cardinal goal of this text is to introduce formal football institutions throughout the country, in the hope of identifying, shaping, and ultimately defining a philosophy for South Africa's unique style of play. Introducing the techniques and modern technology seen in the game today, it further hopes to change perceptions around its administrators and coaches, and of institutionalised football as a whole.
Mobilising, educating, and rejuvenating the tradition of Mzansi's vibrant, enterprising, and entertaining football, this ultimately seeks to establish a standard for quality performance. Expressing respect to the ancestral tacticians who founded carpet football, this work honours their distinguished, unique characters, and seeks to reignite passion for the game as it was played during the 1970s.
