I'm Not Going Anywhere

Life has not been easy for Emily Monroe. She endured unthinkable tragedies before she was legally an adult, and as a result, she had to work extra hard for everything she had. She didn't have much in life, but what she did have, she earned with her blood, sweat, and tears. Which was why she should have been excited when she finally reached her first day of college. But instead of feeling proud of all she had accomplished, she contemplated dropping out before she even began.
On the outside Amelia Hart was a strong, independent woman who could command a room full of people with only the sound of her voice. She loved her job. She loved standing in front of a class of students and lecturing about history, which had always been her passion. But not even her love for teaching could erase her past. Instead, she lived as a shell of a person, the skeletons in her closet causing her to retreat inward and put up industrial strength walls to protect herself and to keep others out.
