Résumé

Twelve years ago, James lost a foster kid he couldn't save. The grief never left him. The consequences are about to find him. When James was a caseworker fresh out of college, he thought he could make a difference to kids caught in the foster care system. He formed a strong bond with Isaiah, the oldest of six siblings abandoned by their parents. Then Isaiah ran away in the middle of the night and was found beaten to death under Manhattan's West Side Highway.
Twelve years later, James has constructed a life where he'll never again be the person who lets someone down. Now a sociology professor, he teaches and studies social problems from the safe distance of academia. He married Courtney, a high-achieving finance executive who's as steady as a rock. Then, during a marriage counseling session, Courtney announces he's taking an extended trip to his sister's in San Francisco and needs a "pause" on their marriage.
James's world crumbles. While Courtney reaches out with texts, like there's still life in their marriage, a late-registering transfer student named Grant shows up in one of James's classes. Attractive, intelligent, and already familiar with James's research on queer identity, Grant is impossible to ignore. He also shares that he grew up in foster care, has been on his own for years, and is now trying to find his place at the big university.
James is fascinated by Grant, but he has the wits to keep their interactions academically focused, for the most part. Memories of his failed attempts to help Isaiah still haunt him, even as they draw him closer to Grant. Meanwhile, Courtney is asking for a reconciliation, forcing James to decide whether he can trust him again. It's overwhelming. And more and more, Grant's behavior feels like a seduction.
But a seduction into what? A forbidden relationship? Another failure? Or something much more chilling?I'll Find You is the seventh standalone novel in the Guilty Pleasures Editions.
The people who come into our lives have the power to change everything. Romeo Preminger writes stories about the relationships that define us, the ones that nearly break us, and the ways they change our lives forever. Whether exploring love, family, friendship, or the possibilities in chance encounters, his novels take readers on unexpected journeys where the lines between danger and safety blur. Rather than writing to fit a particular genre, Romeo writes stories first.
What unites them is emotionally honest storytelling, unforgettable characters, and suspenseful, surprising turns that challenge what we think we know about human relationships. If you've ever stayed up far too late because you couldn't bear to leave a character behind, then you've already experienced the kind of stories Romeo loves to write. His novels are unafraid to break your heart, keep you guessing, and stay with you long after you've turned the final page.
Because the people who come into our lives don't just change our stories. They become part of them. For more about Romeo, visit: https://romeopreminger.com or connect with him on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/AuthorRomeoPreminger Sign up for his mailing list at: http://eepurl.com/g5f64b
